Turning 16 and Turning My Ideas into a Business: The Story Behind Soda Soft Play
Hi! I’m Ana Jennings, and I’m about to turn 16 this October. I’m currently studying Business Studies and GCSE PE, but even before school taught me about business, I was already dreaming up ideas. When I was just 7, I started selling loom band bracelets to my friends and family—little did I know that was just the beginning of my entrepreneurial journey!
Why I Started Soda Soft Play
Like most teenagers, I wanted a part-time job to earn some pocket money for myself—whether that was for clothes, going out with friends, or saving up for something special. But instead of finding a traditional job, I decided to take a leap and create my own business. And that’s how Soda Soft Play was born.
I knew I wanted to do something I was passionate about and that would make a difference to families. With my background in Business Studies and the influence of my family (who have always encouraged me to think creatively), I came up with the idea of luxury soft play hire for babies’ first and second birthdays. I’ve always loved being around kids, and creating something fun and safe for little ones to enjoy seemed like the perfect fit. My parents are teaching me everything about launching and running a busines and my sisters will be helping as the business grows.
From Loom Bands to Luxury Soft Play
Starting Soda Soft Play has been an exciting challenge for me. From researching how to run a business, to learning about safety regulations for kids, I’ve been hands-on with every part of the process. It’s definitely a lot more work than making loom band bracelets, but it’s something I’m incredibly proud of.
Based in Stockport, Soda Soft Play offers luxury soft play hire for babies’ first and second birthdays, providing safe, stylish, and fun setups for milestone celebrations. I handle the setup and take-down myself, ensuring that everything is perfect for each event.
Why Soft Play?
As a student of both Business Studies and PE, I’ve learned how important it is for kids to have safe spaces to play and develop their motor skills. Soft play isn’t just about keeping little ones entertained—it’s about helping them grow and giving parents peace of mind during special occasions. With Soda Soft Play, I wanted to create an experience that combines fun, safety, and elegance, allowing families to relax and enjoy the moment while their little ones explore and play.
What’s Next?
For now, I’m balancing running Soda Soft Play with schoolwork, but I’m really excited about what’s to come. I hope to continue growing the business, learning more about entrepreneurship, and maybe even expanding my services across Greater Manchester.
If you’re planning a birthday celebration and looking for a luxury soft play hire, I’d love for you to check out what Soda Soft Play has to offer. It’s been an amazing experience building this business, and I can’t wait to see where it goes from here!
